At 8000 feet the light is fierce. Black is a dark hole you can't see into, white blazes brighter than the eye can comprehend. This is light that challenges even the most modern camera and surprises me all the time.
I have come to believe our bodies crave continuous small-scale stimulation, the interplay of light and shade, the sensation of breezes blowing, our senses in the world they were made for. In our houses, the lack of all that turns us to our screens, a pitiful substitute. In the mountains, there is change at every instant. My body feels good here and all my senses say thank you. These are pictures I make here while feeling that way.
