I didn't plan to shoot the parade. We were only going to walk by. But when I saw the press table I couldn't resist. I walked over, showed my credentials and got a pass. I only had an hour and it was before the parade began so these pictures don't begin to capture all the activity, all the people marching and cheering. What it does capture is the feeling of the morning right at the head of the parade just as it was getting ready to be born. It was a pleasure to be there.
